Constructed from 1911-15, Neighborhood House served the low income community of Old City, particularly during the Depression. Over the next century the space evolved to be a meeting house, respite for stranded travellers, soup kitchen, athletic facility, child care center, and performance venue.
Mission: Christ Church and Neighborhood House have served populations in need since 1695 and 1915, respectively, while Philadelphia has changed tremendously around us. Focusing on hospitality to under-resourced groups as the landscape in our city evolves, we invite you to make us your home for arts, culture, and community.
